This will prevent any muscle cramps and injury, and will help your muscles to start developing a more even tone as you continue to use the treadmill. You should also talk to your doctor about any new exercise program that you&#8217;re beginning, especially if you&#8217;re on medication or have been advised to limit your physical activity.</p>
<p>Running on a treadmill is relatively easy exercise once you decide that you want to incorporate more cardiovascular activities into your regimen, but you&#8217;ll need to start slow and then work your way up in terms of speed and intensity. You can even walk or run on the treadmill with light hand weights, so that you can tone your arms and shoulders at the same time. Dividing up your exercise time when you&#8217;re running on a treadmill is also a great way to give your muscles time to &#8216;breathe&#8217; and allow your body to start taking on the shape you want. So, you may want to try running or walking in the morning before work for about 20 minutes or so, and then getting on the treadmill for another 20 minutes a few minutes after dinner. You&#8217;ll find that you sleep much better and more energy for the day, and you can increase the time as you become more accustomed to exercising.</p>
